Privacy Policy
Strategic Solutions, Inc. ("SSI", "we", "us") is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based at 12697 Graton Rd., Sebastopol, CA 95472. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through this website (castrategicsolutions.org), how we use it, and the choices you have. We follow this policy because it's the right thing to do — and because California law (including the California Online Privacy Protection Act, CalOPPA) requires us to disclose our practices.
What we collect
We try to collect as little as possible. The information we may collect falls into a few categories:
- Contact information you give us. If you email us, apply for a grant, inquire about a job, or otherwise reach out, you may share your name, organization, email address, phone number, and the contents of your message.
- Grant applicant information. If you apply on behalf of a 501(c)(3) for a community grant, we may collect organizational details (EIN, leadership, financial summaries, program descriptions). This is treated as confidential.
- Analytics data. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and understand which sections of the site are useful. Google Analytics collects standard information about your visit (such as approximate location, browser type, and pages viewed). IP addresses are anonymized before storage. Aggregate analytics data helps us improve the site; it is not sold or shared with advertisers.
How we use it
- To respond to your inquiry.
- To review and process grant applications, evaluate proposals, and award funds.
- To evaluate job applications and communicate with candidates.
- To understand site usage in aggregate so we can improve content and structure.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your personal information. Not to anyone, ever.
- We do not share donor lists with third parties.
- We do not use behavioral advertising trackers or social media pixels. (Google Analytics, which we do use, is configured for site-improvement purposes only and not for advertising.)
- We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (compliance with COPPA). If you believe we have collected information from a minor, please contact us so we can delete it.
Grant applicant confidentiality
Information you provide as part of a grant application is reviewed by SSI's grant committee for the purpose of evaluating that application. We do not share applicant materials with third parties except as required by law (e.g., a subpoena) or with your written consent (e.g., publicly announcing an awarded grant, which we will discuss with you in advance).
Your rights as a California resident
California residents have the right to request a copy of the personal information SSI has collected about them, to request correction or deletion of that information, and to opt out of certain uses. Although most California consumer privacy laws (CCPA/CPRA) do not apply to nonprofits, we honor these rights as a matter of practice. To make a request, email Luke@CaStrategicSolutions.org.
Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals. Because we do not engage in behavioral tracking, our practices are the same regardless of the signal.
Third-party services
This site links to a small number of third-party sites, including RobinHoodHomes.org (our wholly-owned subsidiary), recipient nonprofit websites, and public resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we link to; we encourage you to read their policies.
Security
We use reasonable technical and operational safeguards to protect information you share with us. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, post a notice on the site.
