Different Thinking for a Difficult Problem

Strategic Solutions, Inc. was built on a simple conviction: the nonprofit world can benefit from the discipline and creativity of business strategy. We don't accept that housing instability is inevitable — we look for the angles others miss. And when we see someone else with a working strategy, we put our resources behind it.

We serve the under-housed in West Sonoma County's rural and unincorporated communities — from Sebastopol and Forestville to Guerneville and the Russian River corridor — through direct financial investment, home safety improvements, rent subsidization, and community education.

We believe that sustainable change requires informed communities. We partner with the region's established resources — from educators and advocates to policymakers — forming coalitions to advance our shared goals.

Our Funding Model

Joint Venture
Robin Hood Homes, LLC

Strategic Solutions, Inc. operates in a joint venture with Robin Hood Homes, LLC — a wholly owned subsidiary of Strategic Solutions, Inc. Robin Hood Homes is the operational arm through which we participate in California's SB 1079 program, acquiring post-foreclosure properties and converting them into restricted affordable housing.

Learn More

What Is SB 1079?

California Senate Bill 1079 — the Homes for Homeowners, Not Corporations Act — gives nonprofits, tenants, and local governments a 45-day window after a foreclosure auction to match the winning bid and purchase the property. It was designed to prevent large institutional investors from bulk-buying foreclosed California homes, as happened during the 2008 financial crisis.

🏡

How SSI Participates

As an eligible California nonprofit, Strategic Solutions — through Robin Hood Homes, LLC — identifies post-foreclosure properties and exercises our SB 1079 purchase rights. Every home acquired through this program is deed-restricted as affordable housing for 30 years. Profits generated are not extracted — they are reinvested directly back into our West Sonoma County community programs and grants.
